Finance, together
By bringing the network into focus, Collaborative Finance (CoFi) promises to minimize liquidity needs, reduce business risks, streamline supply chains, and localize collaboration to trusted communities. It is the network we transact with, the network we depend on and engage with for our economic - and often social - activity. By having a bird’s-eye view of these diverse interactions, CoFi mechanisms help identify and clear cycles of transactions, supply liquidity in key points, unlocking a smooth run of the economy.
Building at the local
We invite you to gather in Berlin to build the future finance didn’t know it needed. From passionate infrastructure and monetary theorists to community builders, CoFi relies on interdisciplinary efforts to design, implement, and apply mechanisms for achieving economic goals cost-efficiently.
The local is where we meet to share ideas over a hearty meal. It is also where new collaborations are born and solutions to common problems sketched out, implemented, and ideally adopted. CoFi Berlin invites glocal projects experimenting with or already building these solutions to be part of the conversation. Building locally means engaging with one’s neighbors in addressing a constantly changing ocean of big and small problems. It also requires thinking globally and adapting to an interconnected environment we depend on for supplying even the most essential of our goods, and maintaining a resilient infrastructure for securing the local economy.
Resilience also doubles as one of the core principles of post-web. Post-web (Six Principles of the Post-Web) encompasses efforts of building local, resilient, sovereign, and private structures and infrastructures that enable us to connect and create autonomously. CoFi and post-web can inspire and support each other in achieving their individual and joint goals. In Berlin, we hope to explore this intersection and uncover ways in which to build resilient, self-sovereign economic, social, and cultural networks.
Mycelial networks and MycoFi (Mycological Finance) are the memetic background of this event, as we take inspiration from mycelial structures to design our technologies and economies; we also want to embrace the emerging Mushrooms Economy for better food, medicine, materials, and beyond.
